Perseverance, grit, and problem solving are all essential for success. The importance of developing these skills is illustrated in this presentation through two parallel stories: that of a young girl attempting to build a “Magnificent Thing” and the story of the search for Dark Matter.
Students will be asked to consider the importance of perseverance, identify what to do when things get hard, and discuss how to learn from things that don't go quite right.
Searching for dark matter is hard work and this presentation will help students understand why doing hard things is important (and awesome!)
