DUNE Beam Signing Event
Join Fermilab and SURF for a special public event celebrating the next phase of the Longbase Neutrino Facility/Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE).
Before cryostat materials make their mile-deep journey underground, you’re invited to leave your mark by signing a structural steel beam that will become part of DUNE’s first detector module.
This beam is one of 1,360 that will support the massive cryostat—designed to hold 17,000 tons of liquid argon nearly a mile beneath the surface. It also represents a unique moment in global collaboration, as it is an in-kind contribution from CERN.
