Are you an in-service teacher or pre-service undergraduate tasked with teaching High School Physics but didn't major in the field? This workshop is for you!

Join the team at SURF (Sanford Underground Research Facility) and the PhysTEC STEP-UP program for an intensive five day professional development workshop designed to turn out-of-field teachers into confident physics mentors.

Focus: First-semester high school physics content, pedagogical strategies, and hands-on lab techniques.

Goal: Providing non-physics majors with the resources and confidence needed to teach an engaging, rigorous, and fun high school physics class.

  • $750 learning stipend for successful completion

*Two hours of graduate credit will be available at a reduced tuition rate through Black Hills State University.
