Deep Talks: An Evening with the Regan Brothers
Join brothers Dan and Tom Regan, who together have over 100 years of experience at Homestake and SURF, for a night of storytelling and recollection of their time on site.
Few know the history, machinery, and people of the site better than Dan and Tom. They each bring firsthand stories from running locomotives underground to leading mine rescue efforts. Together, they offer a unique perspective on the transformation of the historic gold mine into a world-class underground lab.
“Tonight’s Deep Talks presentation is a chance for us, as brothers, to share our stories that have shaped our us and our families with our combined years that add up to over a century. The two of us have been connected to this remarkable place, first through the work and life of the Homestake Mine, and now through the transformation of that same underground world into SURF. What we offer this evening is part history, part memory, and part gratitude: a look at how two brothers experiences mirror the larger journey from mining to science, and how the deep places beneath the Black Hills continue to shape who we are.” - Tom and Dan Regan
