Sanford Lab welcomes new Health and Safety Superintendent

Ewing's extensive experience in the management of environmental, safety and health programs makes her an asset to the ESH.

Sanford Lab welcomes Julie Ewing as the Health and Safety Superintendent. A Black Hills State University alum, Julie has over eighteen years of experience working as the Environmental, Safety and Health Director of Croell, Inc., a concrete, products and service provider in the Midwest region.

“I’m excited to get going at Sanford,” said Julie. “The staff has incredible expertise in all different areas, and I can’t wait to see the improvements we can make here in regards to safety, health and the environment. With the combined knowledge of the entire department, we can make a huge difference and I’m really looking forward to seeing how I can help!”

“We are happy to welcome Julie Ewing to the SURF family,” said Larry Jaudon, Sanford Lab’s Environment, Safety and Health director. “She has extensive experience in the management of environmental, safety and health programs and will be an asset to the ESH team. Julie will be out and about, actively engaging the work force, so as you have the opportunity to visit with her, please welcome her to our organization.”

Julie, her husband TJ, and their three children live on a ranch between Spearfish and Deadwood. Their family loves riding horses, and Cassidy, Lanie and Ty are avid rodeo kids. Between practicing for barrels, poles, and other exhibition events, these kids care for the newest additions to the ranch–five bottle calves.
