Federica Petricca

Science Program Advisory Committee Physics

Federica Petricca leads the cryo-detectors group at the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik in Munich. Her background as a researcher is in experimental particle physics, particularly in rare events searches. Her current scientific interests are in dark matter and neutrino physics and in the development of cryogenic detectors to better constrain the properties of these elusive particles.

Dr. Petricca is currently serving as the spokesperson of the dark matter search experiment CRESST (Cryogenic Rare Event Search with Superconducting Thermometers), which is currently the most sensitive experiment worldwide to search for dark matter in the sub-GeV/c2 mass range.
