Galyn ‘Rip’ Rippentrop has over 45 years of domestic and international heavy construction experience with a focus on shaft and tunnel work associated with mine development, transportation, water and energy, and has played a pivotal role in a number of significant and technically challenging projects in the United States and overseas. He was recognized with the Outstanding Individual Award from the Underground Association of SME. 

Rippentrop received a Bachelor of Science at the SD School of Mines in Rapid City, South Dakota, and started work as a field engineer at a power plant in Kentucky. After working for a year in Nigeria building roads for the oil industry, he spent 25 years with Kiewit Construction as an engineer, superintendent, and manager on various mine development and heavy civil projects in the U.S. and internationally. He joined Frontier-Kemper Construction in 2000 and spent eight years as President and CEO of the company. Since his retirement, he has worked as a consultant for various mining and heavy civil engineering projects throughout the United States.
