Matt Michels

Matt Michels is a former South Dakota legislator, Speaker of the House, and Lt. Governor, and was a prime sponsors of the Science and Technology Authority legislation. Matt is an attorney, formerly serving as Avera Health General Counsel until resigning to serve as Lt. Governor. He now serves as Avera’s Transactional Counsel and as Avera’s COVID Incident Command Liaison Officer. Matt is a U.S. Navy veteran, a Registered Nurse and holds a B.S. in Healthcare Services Administration.
