Small Businesses

SDSTA purchases from small businesses whenever possible.  We encourage competitive bids and quotes from women-owned, veteran-owned, disabled veteran-owned, 8A and disadvantaged small businesses, and businesses operating in HUBZones. 

SDSTA networks with local agencies that provide expert technical assistance to small businesses.  We encourage you to take full advantage of the services provided by the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO - the state's SBA Women's Business Center); and local Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offices.  The Small Business Administration offers a short video to introduce small businesses to the government contracting process: http://www.sba.gov/tools/sba-learning-center/video/how-sell-federal-government-small-business
